Is the deceleration motor a variable frequency motor?

In fact, from a definition perspective, a deceleration motor refers to the combination of a reducer and a motor. It consists of two parts, one is the motor and the other is the gearbox. And the motor (motor) can also be a DC motor, AC motor, three-phase asynchronous motor, single-phase capacitor starter motor, stepper motor, servo motor, brushless motor, infinitely variable speed motor, reversible motor, electromagnetic brake motor, variable frequency motor, etc. There are many types of reducers, including gear reducers, worm gear reducers, cycloidal pin reducers, and planetary reducers. Therefore, it can be seen that a reducer motor is not equal to a variable frequency motor, or it can be understood that a variable frequency motor can be called a reducer motor, and a reducer motor is not necessarily a variable frequency motor.

Normally, variable frequency motors belong to one type of three-phase asynchronous motors, because three-phase asynchronous motors can be divided into variable frequency speed regulating motors, brake motors, motors with integrated variable frequency braking, and ordinary motors according to their functional performance.

Compared to a reduction motor, a variable frequency motor is only the motor part, and the motor of a reduction motor may not be a variable frequency motor, such as other stepper motors and servo motors, while there are many options for reducers. The variable frequency motor limits the motor to be a variable frequency motor. So for friends who are preparing to purchase deceleration motors or variable frequency motors, it is important to distinguish them clearly.

Compared to variable frequency motors, reduction motors are more flexible and agile due to their equipped reducers. For example, the motor has a rated speed of 1450 revolutions per minute and a rated torque of 10NM. With the addition of a reducer, the speed ratio of the reducer is 1:100. Therefore, the final output speed of the reduction motor can be changed to 14.5 revolutions per minute, and the torque can be increased to 1000NM. It can be seen that this is more capable of meeting the requirements of transmission equipment in terms of speed and torque. However, variable frequency motors only have rated speed and torque due to the lack of a matching reducer. Therefore, it cannot be applied more flexibly to equipment situations that require changes in speed and torque.
